Globally centered discrete snakes

چکیده

We consider branching random walks built on Galton-Watson trees with offspring distribution having a bounded support, conditioned to have n nodes, and their rescaled convergences to the Brownian snake. We exhibit a notion of “globally centered discrete snake” that extends the usual settings in which the displacements are supposed centered. We show that under some additional moment conditions, when n goes to +∞, “globally centered discrete snakes” converge to the Brownian snake. The proof relies on a precise study of the “lineage” of the nodes in a Galton-Watson tree conditioned by the size, and their links with a multinomial process. Some consequences concerning Galton-Watson trees conditioned by the size are also derived. Subject classification : 60J80, 60F17, 60J65.

The lineage process in Galton-Watson trees and globally centered discrete snakes

Radial Distortion Snakes

In this paper, we address the problem of recovering the camera radial distortion coefficients from one image. The approach that we propose uses a special kind of snakes called radial distortion snakes. Radial distortion snakes behave like conventional deformable contours, except that their behavior are globally connected via a consistent model of image radial distortion. Experiments show that r...

Embedding hypercubes into cylinders, snakes and caterpillars for minimizing wirelength

We consider the problem of embedding hypercubes into cylinders to minimize the wirelength. Further we show that the edge isoperimetric problem solves the wirelength problem of regular graphs and in particular hypercubes into triangular snakes and caterpillars.

The Elastic Ratio: Introducing Curvature into Ratio-based Globally Optimal Image Segmentation

In this paper we present the first globally optimal ratio-based image segmentation method allowing to impose curvature regularity of the region boundary. The proposed method is fully unsupervised and compares favorably to other such approaches. To identify the optimal foreground region in the image, the algorithm minimizes the ratio of flux over a weighted sum of length and curvature regularity...

Energy minimizing contours or snakes are tools for delineating objects of interest in an image. Snakes are defined discretely or in continuous form with continuous snakes having advantages over discrete snakes. A continuous snake called B-snake has been previously defined using B-spline curves. In this paper, a continuous snake called R-snake is introduced that is based on rational Gaussian (Ra...
